Sunnyslope's First Annual "Art on the Canal"
THIS SHOWING HAS ENDED
SlopeArts first annual Art on the Canal is scheduled for Saturday, October 5, 2019.
North Central Phoenix -
along the Canal at Herberger Park One & Central Avenue.
8622 N Central Avenue, Phoenix, AZ 85020
Noon - 9PM
This new arts festival will feature artists lined along the Canal, including yours truly. I hope you make the time to come and see all that Sunnyslope has to offer. Sunnyslope is an area that I truly love. It is one of the few places in Phoenix that encourages artist's quirkiness, so you can find some interesting things in this area. The area has had its ups and downs over the years but I see it really rising up in the local art scene. And by October, the weather should really be ideal!
I will be featuring some of my favorite original paintings, as well a smaller prints and my latest obsession... painting mannequins. Pictures coming soon.

Kennedy Space Center Celebrates the 50th Anniversary of Apollo 8.
THIS SHOWING HAS ENDED
On December 21, 2018 the astronauts of Constellation will be holding a celebration of the 50th Anniversary of the Apollo 8th launch and the photo of the "Earthrise" that was a happy result of that voyage. We all know the photo, although I think very few of us can even imagine the impact it first had on the world. It was before my time, but I do remember when I first saw how amazing the Earth was. This wasn't an illustration of what someone imagined it looking like. It was the real thing. I can only imagine the tingles the astronauts Jim Lovell, Bill Anders and Frank Borman must have felt when they first looked out that window to see something as surreal as the Earth rising over the moon! From Earth I marvel at the moon every night, but you have to admit, our Earth puts the Moon to shame. What I love most about the Earthrise photo is that unlike maps and globes that show the division of countries, this one photo shows that we are all part of a great, big, beautiful whole. And the vastness of the sea of space around us just further prove that we can only survive if we man this ship together. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------ I am pleased that my painting "The Space of Wonder" will be a part of this celebration on December 21, 2018. Phoenix Pride Art Show
THIS SHOWING HAS ENDED
I am so excited to be joining 19 other talented artists on Friday, October 12, for the Phoenix Pride Art Show. Phoenix Pride is dedicated to the continuous development of programs and building community partnerships to benefit the Arizona LGBTQ community, along with its community of Allies. My daughter recently walked with her school's GSA club (Gay/Straight Alliance) in the last Phoenix Pride parade, so this is an organization that I hold dear. I hope to see you come out to show your support. Exposed Studio & Gallery 4225 N. 7th Ave. Phoenix, AZ 85013 |
